LEGGIT 2011: Drum roll please...

With Leggit 2011 now over and all participants home, the fundraising total is finally in. We are pleased to announce that Leggit raised an outstanding £32,173.80! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who sponsored this amazing event, and a huge congratulations to Bournemouth Rag for all their efforts. 

Leggit was in aid of four charities; Teenage Cancer Trust, Margaret Green Animal Rescue, Roundtable Children's Wish and The Royal British Legion, who are all very pleased with the money raised.

How to create an event on Raise2Give

With all the news events recently being loaded on the site, we thought we would take you through a step by step process on how to create your event on Raise2Give.

1. Firstly log into your account page with the email address and password that you registered with. Go to the events section and click on 'Add an event'

2. Fill in all the details about your event, including the time and place. You can always edit these later, but try to get as much detail in as you can initially. Make sure you add a photo that represents your event, most users tend to add their event poster or a picture that describes the event.

3. If your event requires a tracking system, make sure to click 'Allow Tracking' and if you want the event to show on your page now click 'Active'

4. Finally, click 'Add'. If your event requires tracking, you will now be prompted to add a location for the map to activate (this tend to be the start / finish location of the event)

Your event has now been created! So go spread the word and ask your fundraisers to click 'Make my page' to join this event!

So this weekend saw the UK largest student charity hitchhike, LEGGIT, organised by Bournemouth University Rag.

With 382 participants split into 120 teams all trying to get as far away as they can in 36 hours, it sure was a weekend to remember!

With teams ending in Berlin, Milan, Budapest and of course the winning who got all the way to Tenerife, we are proud to say that we could not take our eyes of the tracker!

Raise2Give would like to thank everyone who took part in this event, everyone that donated and all those lovely people who help our travellers on their amazing journey.

This morning saw the launch of LEGGIT 2011 at Bournemouth University Rag. 

With 382 participants, Leggit is the biggest ever UK student hitchhike and we are so pleased at Raise2Give to be part of this amazing event. All of these participants have grouped themselves into teams, and now have the next 36 hours to get as far away from bournemouth university, without spending a penny!
